I've been using Jade yoga mat (famous for its non-slipperiness) for years, until it was worn out and made rubbery scraps all over the mat. I couldn't go back to the cheap yoga ones, and was searching for an alternative. The Manduka mat seemed to be the only option (yet too expensive), before I discovered Tatago.- This yoga mat approximates the non-slipperiness of the Jade yoga mat. It adheres to the wooden floor due to its heavy rubber material. (Once placed, it won't move easily!) It provides enough stability when I'm doing the down dog pose (on cheap mats, my hand easily slips down).- the XL size is just perfect for doing extra stuffs than yoga, such as self-massaging, as I have to roll back and forth. As a 5.5 feet woman, I was okay with the standard mat size for doing yoga, but the extra space gives me more possibilities of movement even when I do yoga. (This size should be the standard for the taller people!)- color and texture: the black color is actually close to dark gray (the shade changes depending on the surrounding light). It has a glossy, smooth texture. I was not a fan of black, but it looks beautiful and professional! I wonder what the other colors actually look like (hard to know from the product description). Also I hope there are more color options in the future (I'd love to see violet or beige!).

Got this “yoga” mat on August 5th so I’ve had a few weeks to work with it. I’ve worked physical labor all my life, 12 hours on my feet is a regular thing, so you can imagine that when it comes to recovery some extra love and care for my body is sorely needed. I’ve always just used the mats they have at my local gym for warm ups, yoga, or different types of exercise routines. I go to the gym often enough that I decided to “invest” in my own gear that I can be in charge of cleaning rather than trusting the general public with that job. Browsed Amazon and came across this “extra” large yoga mat which immediately clicked with me, because I can’t tell you how many stretches or exercises I do that finds my knees or elbows hitting the hard floor instead of the cushy mat that my joints so badly need! This thing is heavy duty & stays put…like it’s not going to slide wherever you plant it. It’s “rubbery” but that’s a good thing…it’s just tacky enough for you to hold full body bridges with ease, but smooth enough for you to slide on when you need to. Double bonus…it doesn’t smell “rubbery” at all. Only drawback that I could see for some people is that it weighs about 10 pounds…I personally enjoy it because I start getting “warmed up” just bringing my gear from the car into the gym. I’ve been using it heavy duty and I haven’t seen any signs of degradation in the product yet which you generally see in inferior products after the “break-in” period. I have to say for anyone even contemplating that this mat is worth every dollar!

The mat is sticky and heavy and perfect for my hot workouts. I use it for pilates and hot yoga. Can't say enough about how pleased I am it came with a strap to carry the mat and use in class. I do not slip one bit on this mat, and also purchased the matching sized towel for when I am really dripping in Bikram. Awesome!

This is exactly what I wanted. It’s extra large and doesn’t slip on my hardwood floors. It is made with quality materials. It doesn’t have a lot of cushion but that’s not what I was looking for. I love it!

Almost exactly what I was looking for... except, I was hoping it was about a foot wider, wish it had some guides or hand foot placement markers, and would like it just a little bit thicker (with more cushion). With that said... and after order several other low-quality mats... I just want to say that I am very, very pleased with this mat!! I think it actually deserves 4.5 Stars. Great Buy!
